HI-MACS® gives accent to Zara

Fashion chain Zara’s flagship store in west London’s prestigious Westfield shopping phenomenon has a stunning façade made from the futuristic solid surface HI-MACS® material.

Designer Zara Estudio and fabricators Grupo Candido Hermida chose HI-MACS® in the distinctive Toffee Brown hue for its unparalleled properties. This was combined with a metal trim between the pieces.

Using 81 panels of HI-MACS® and 3 sheets of steel, the total façade covered 146.50 square metres of surface area.

HI-MACS® can be thermo-formed to any shape or angle without restricting the designer’s aspirations and is seamlessly joined offer a single visual and tactile entity. The texture they were able to achieve along with the angles and 3-D shapes allowed us to create an intriguing and very welcoming frontal effect.

HI-MACS® is fast becoming the material of choice for designers and fabricators who are looking to push design boundaries in all sectors.
