Numerous inspiring displays characterised the presence of HI-MACS® - the State-of-the art acrylic stone – in Milan during the recent Furniture Show in April 2010.
The opening of Alviero Martini’s new ALV Showroom, which is made entirely of HI-MACS®, was an exciting, well attended event. ’HI-MACS® is an enveloping and luminous material, practical, strong and…discreet’, declared the fashion designer.
Also bright and dramatic is the setting created at the Hotel Nhow in the Tortona area, which housed the presentation of ‘Twisted’, an eclectic collection of “furnishing elements” designed by Philip Michael Wolfson and made entirely of HI-MACS®. The installation ‘Imaginarium’ was designed by Francesco Lucchese.
The Tortona area was also home to ‘Touch By’, an exceptional and dynamic Spanish furniture and design company which presented ‘Design con M de Madrid’, a surprising, fun sculptural furnishing collection created by young French, Spanish and British designers. An inspiring design collection featuring modern, unique and original products made of HI-MACS®, chosen for the harmony between the beauty of their shapes and extreme functionality.
The presentation of ‘Eating with HI-MACS® Design Contest 2010’ organized by Polytrade CE, the strategic partner of HI-MACS® in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, within the “Salone Satellite” at Milan International Furniture Fair, was hugely successful.
Numerous students from three universities worked hard on the theme of the contest, with a rewarding end result.
There were countless new products – bookcases, lights, shelving units, seats, storage units, tables, etc., etc. – incorporated by various exhibiters on their stands, confirming the eclectic nature of HI-MACS® Acrylic Stone, which is being used increasingly in the design, architecture and furnishing sectors.
