Exhibited for the first time worldwide in London during the 100% design show, Ora-ïto created an inspiring monolithic HI-MACS® sculpture with an architectural feel, which performs at the same time a highly practical function: the structure of the sculpture reveals a seat in one unique fluid design.
Ora-Ito's architectural structure is the result of a genuine technological process. HI-MACS® entrusted the fabrication of Ora-ïto’s bench/sculpture to the Spanish group Candido Hermida, who specialise in the design, fabrication and installation of furniture and interior design made of exceptional and innovative materials. Candido Hermida took up the challenge: after creating the initial structure, which comprised of a number of pieces that fitted together like a puzzle, they continued to the sanding and thermoforming processes. The result: a bench/sculpture with imperceptible joints, clean lines and perfect proportions. The sculpture, made out of HI-MACS® Alpine White reveals a design foundation that embraces the flowing curves of its design.
