“HI-MACS® Urban Nes(x)t” at Home & Spa Design
During Milan’s Fuorisalone 2012 event, all exhibition spaces at the exclusive Magna Pars Centre will be dedicated to Home Spa Design "Abitare il Design - Emotional Living”. After only three years it has become one of the most important events in the whole Design Week.
This year’s theme is emotion seen through the eyes of designers. The HI-MACS® space at Home Spa Design will be called Urban Nes(x)t and has been designed by Bestetti Associati.
Urban Nes(x)t is a welcoming house with an eye to the future, a personal setting which becomes a place in which to find peace and serenity.
Its furnishing is simple and essential and it includes a small selection of high quality objects characterised by technology and modern design.
The space will have two dividing walls made from HI-MACS®, fabricated by Andreoli, recalling a bird’s nest. The incredible mouldable properties of acrylic stone make it possible to reproduce complex interwoven shapes to form a nest.
Urban Nes(x)t will feature a series of products created using the new generation Solid Surface HI-MACS®, made by some of the most important design companies, including Busnelli, Armidaeffe, Schock, Decostone, Moma Design and the new Italian brand HOMMM designed by Brazilian designer Ricardo Antonio, whose career began in the 1980s at Modulo magazine, founded by Oscar Niemeyer. In this area, LG Electronics will be also featuring its latest product: Smart Technology 3D TV.
Surfing the Future by Marco Piva
Also the architect Marco Piva has used the New Generation Solid Surface for its project “Surfing the Future”, one of the five installations at Home Spa Design. HI-MACS® has been used for the wall surrounding the jacuzzi area, and for the flooring of the central area of the concept. The drilled walls made from HI-MACS® sheets are in the colour Alpine White.
Contemporary Décor
Fuorisalone will also host an unmissable appointment at Superstudio 13. LG Hausys, the producer of HI-MACS®, will present a sophisticated global setting known as Contemporary Décor, featuring a kitchen produced entirely from new generation Solid Surface.
In order to produce decorative elements with a modern sensitivity, the LG Hausys stand will use white surfaces built up from rounded layers.
HI-MACS® will be used in the kitchen and also on the surfaces of domestic appliances integrated in the design.
From the kitchen to the dinner table and even the bench to the side of the stand, the area opposite the kitchen and the kitchen itself will be connected in order to create an uninterrupted harmonious form.
HI-MACS® is not just at Fuorisalone! The Swedish company Karl Andersson & Söner will be exhibiting at the International Furniture Fair its angular Cerco shelf unit, by Argentine designer Federico Churba, as well as Buff, its collection of coloured tables with classic 50s lines designed by Joel Karlsson and made from HI-MACS®.
HI-MACS® will also be on display at Eurocucina, in the Euromobil space, with IT-IS, the innovative kitchen designed by Simone Micheli in classic Alpine White tones.
HI-MACS® can also be seen throughout Design Week at Grohe Showroom, on the spaces of Aster Cucine, Aran, Imab Group, Mondonutti, Miton, Rifra, Bonaldo, TM Italia Cucine, AR Due, AR Tre, HOMMM and many others. We’re looking forward to see you there!
