HI MACS® at the Milan Design Week 2011

Once again this year, at the Milan Design Week, HI MACS® confirmed its leadership with two not-to-be-missed exhibits.

In the “Innovation-Imagination” display, situated in the former Ansaldo premises in via Tortona, was the Vertigo display (designed by Lucchese Design), which was reached by an intriguing labyrinth path made from HI-MACS®, displaying various products. HI-MACS® was also used extensively to furnish this exhibit. Elements included a tunnel portal in the new Light Green shade of HI-MACS®, and a reception desk which used varying thicknesses of HI-MACS® to great effect. The reception desk was in the translucent Opal material, showing more intriguing properties of HI-MACS®.

Also on show to the public inside Vertigo was a series of lamp-sculptures from the Dolcevita collection, designed by the architect Giorgio Palermo and made by Garden Light. These are elegant objects made from original materials such as HI-MACS®, used in this case in the body of the lamps.

Another work of Lucchese Design was used by Too Late, the famous silicone watch brand which contributed to the success of the Milan event with the opening of a Temporary Shop.

Inside the shop, gloss black modular elements in HI-MACS®, assembled together, were used as display units for the brightly coloured Too Late products, also designed to resemble the skyline of a city. Also in HI MACS® was the reception desk top in Lilac Haze (yellow and lilac), a colour chosen to recreate a sharp colour contrast between the various shop furnishing elements.

To these highly interesting events must be added the presence inside the Furniture Show of numerous projects for famous companies designed by leading designers who chose HI-MACS® for their creations. Among these the vanity top with integrated washbasin for Valcucine Laundry.

For the Busnelli industrial group, also in HI MACS® were a series of small tables of different sizes and an extraordinary modular bookcase with totally invisible joints, available in different measurements, to which drawer units and other accessories can be added.
