HI-MACS® leads an aesthetic revolution in the design of traditional Valencian refreshment stalls

To transform traditional Spanish refreshment stalls in the Valencia region into an exclusive and innovative environment, thus turning tasting tiger nut milk, a hugely enjoyable local drink made from tiger nuts, into a completely new experience. This was why Manuel Chirivella Herráez and Gaby Borro Escribano, from the 2E+1L Architecture Studio, designed this space, the main feature of which is undoubtedly a counter made out of HI-MACS®.

The architects wanted Mon Orxata to totally break away from the image of the classical refreshment stall, rather creating an ambience which would coax customers into trying the flavours and experiment with the colours and sensations of its products.

2E+1L chose the HI-MACS® acrylic stone as this material totally fulfilled the requirements: beautiful, resistant, long-lasting, non-porous, with no visible joints, which makes it hygienic. Finally, it is a great choice for a public place where people work with food. The embossed letters on the front were also created in HI-MACS® and fitted in perfectly with the furniture.

The 12 mm HI-MACS® counter is monolithic and is Mon Orxata’s central item, transmitting the environmental concept to the exterior. Alpine White and Black were chosen as they symbolise the white of the tiger nut and the black of the coffee and also aesthetically transmit seriousness and cleanliness.
Mon Orxata demonstrates once again that HI-MACS® is a high performance product in terms of design and functionality.
