Blend
Dutch designer Marike Andeweg launched her new design label NotOnlyWhite with great success last September during 100% Design London.
Less than six months later, she has won the iF 2011 product design award for the Blend handrinse collection, completely made out of HI-MACS®. This is her fourth iF design award amongst many other accolades including German Design Awards Gold.
The Blend handrinse collection has been exclusively designed for her new brand NotOnlyWhite. The organic-shaped Blend handrinse basin extends fluidly to form the 6cm high splashback, giving it a nostalgic look. The Blend is equipped with the Flush waste and is completely made out of HI-MACS® Alpine White. It is attached to the wall with a virtually invisible stainless steel bracket.
The versatile Blend design basin forms a perfect combination with the Frame cabinet collection. The open structure of the Frame collection literally ‘frames’ and reveals the shape of the basin above.

“The aesthetical look of HI-MACS® in combination with its material characteristics (easy to clean and possibility to thermoform) make it a perfect match for my designs. A third aspect that I appreciate is the available colour range and the continuous development of new colours” says the designer.
Marike Andeweg’s vision on design roots in purity and practicality. What inspires her most is the challenge to create a pure and effortless product. HI-MACS® seamless joints and thermoforming extraordinary properties were the perfect partner for the creation of these collections, in which pure lines design were essential.
