Materialica Design + Technology Award 2009 is an Industrial Design contest held in Munich, during MATERIALICA 2009, the 12th International trade fair for material applications, surfaces and product engineering, held on the ground of the New Munich Trade Fair Center from 13th to 15th October 2009.
This contest has been organized for the last seven years by Munich Expo, to highlight the importance of materials for Industrial design-oriented applications and to establish a platform for designers, material manufacturers, developers, engineers and producers for a get-together.
This year, “Magic HI-MACS®”, a new concept product presented by our Headquarter based in Seoul, has been one of the five awardees selected under “Surface + Technology Category”, announced during an award ceremony on October 13th.
What is “Magic HI-MACS®”??
Magic HI-MACS®, is the brand name for an ultimate solid surfacing material created by LG Hausys with acrylic resin and mineral filler. It comes to make in compliance with the metal powder and the magnet by applying the principle where the magnet pulls the metal creating a pattern.
By creating Magic HI-MACS®, we abandoned the notion of engineered stone as an imitation of natural stone and designed a superior product. It can integrate infinite possibilities of geometric and modern patters unachievable until now!
Magic HI-MACS®, is still on research stage, our technical department is developing it and will be available in the second half of 2010.
