An unusual HI-MACS® washstand, part of the Private Space Furniture collection, designed by German designer Jannis Ellenberger, was successfully presented at the recent International Milan Furniture Fair in Italy.
Simple but multi-functional, the washstand is based on the tradition of a washstand and pitcher, usually a simple table or cupboard within the bedroom; it combines functionality and aesthetics to provide more open space within home.
The use of the solid surface HI-MACS® for the top of the washstand allowed Ellenbergerdesign to create a sinuous surface offering great resilience and longevity, which combined with the natural wood finish of the base, produces a truly sustainable product. The top is made out of HI-MACS® which has been smoothly thermoformed in one piece which makes it highly suitable for serial production. The washstand incorporates a sink, a two-level counter top, a towel rack and holders for brushes and other small items like jewelry.
Since the living room and kitchen have been combining as the public spaces in a private home, this furniture collection meet the same trend taking place in the private areas such as the bathroom and bedroom. Clean and straight design, white and soft colors combined with new generation materials and natural wood create an atmosphere of comfort, ease and recreation. The collection is completed by a bed, a combination of a valet stand and a stool and a bench with the added feature of a clothes hanger.
