The Dock London Desaturated Dogmas (en) Download Show plain text Fluid lines and a game of light and shadows for HI-MACS® London, 21st-27th September 2009 Designer Philip Michael Wolfson, in partnership with Solidity, presented for the first time the DESATURATED DOGMAS exhibition especially for London Design Week, from 21st to 27th September. Philip Michael Wolfson’s unique approach to design is inspired by the dynamics of fracture and the manipulation of fluid forms, which explore and redefine our perception of solid materials. The designer has produced a new range of furniture made entirely out of HI-MACS®. The complex shapes of five pieces of furniture: Eruption, Omni, Split, Twisted and Why Not primarily aim to push back the material’s limits. The essential role of light and shadows should be noted in this new furniture collection, particularly its aim to provide serenity and harmony. Light and shadows define the contours of parts just as well as the material does. The exhibition took place at “The Dock”, a series of galleries managed by Tom Dixon. HI-MACS®, Philip Michael Wolfson and Solidity rub shoulders with prestigious brands such as Zanotta, Veuve Cliquot and even Tom Dixon’s “Guerilla Shop". What is HI-MACS®? September 2009 Anlässlich der Design-Woche in London vom (21. bis 27. September 2009) präsentierte der Designer Philip Michael Wolfson, in Zusammenarbeit mit Solidity, die Ausstellung DESATURATED DOGMAS. Der einzigartige Designansatz von Philip Michael Wolfson schöpft seine Inspiration aus der Bruchdynamik und der Verwendung flüssiger Formen, die eine auβergewöhnliche und neuartige Wahrnehmung edler Materialien erzeugen. Der Designer realisierte die neue „TWISTED“-Linie vollständig aus HI-MACS®. Die komplexen Formen der drei Möbel „Why“, „Why Not“ und „Eruption Table“ schieben in erster Linie die Grenzen des Materials immer weiter hinaus. Bei dieser neuen Möbelkollektion ist vor allem die Wirkung von Licht und Schatten hervorzuheben, deren Hauptziel darin besteht, dem Raum Ruhe und Harmonie zu verleihen. Licht und Schatten definieren die Möbelkonturen ebenso wie das Material. Die Ausstellung fand in „The Dock“ statt, einer Reihe von Galerien statt, denen Tom Dixon als Art Director vorsteht. HI-MACS®, Philip Michael Wolfson und Solidity wurden hier neben Prestigemarken wie Zanotta, Veuve Cliquot oder auch dem „Guerilla Shop“ von Tom Dixon gezeigt. Was ist HI-MACS®? HI-MACS® gehört zur neuen Generation von Werkstoffen aus Acrylstein. HI-MACS® wird von der Firma LG HAUSYS konzipiert und hergestellt, einem weltweit führenden Technologieanbieter, dessen europäische Filialen unter dem Namen LG HAUSYS EUROPE mit Sitz in Genf bekannt sind. Dank seiner Thermoformbarkeit sind Formen und Design nahezu keine Grenzen gesetzt. Außerdem ist das Material transluzent, was es äußerst attraktiv macht; es fühlt sich warm und weich an. Als porenfreies Material bildet es eine homogene und hygienische Oberfläche, die sich sehr leicht abwaschen lässt und Flecken aller Art sowie Hitze und Verschleiß standhält. Die Fertigungstechnologie, die zu den fortschrittlichsten des Marktes zählt, ermöglicht eine höhere Beständigkeit, vor allem gegen Hitze und UV-Strahlen. The Dock London Desaturated Dogmas (fr) Download Show plain text Lignes fluides et jeu d’ombres et lumières pour HI-MACS® Londres, 21-27 septembre 2009 A l’occasion de la semaine du Design à Londres du 21 au 27 septembre, le designer Philip Michael Wolfson en partenariat avec Solidity, a présenté l’exposition DESATURATED DOGMAS. L’approche unique de Philip Michael Wolfson au design est inspirée par les dynamiques de fracture et la manipulation de formes fluides, qui explorent et redéfinissent la perception de matériaux nobles. Le designer a réalisé une nouvelle gamme « TWISTED » entièrement réalisée en HIMACS®. Les formes complexes des du mobilier, s’attachent d’abord à repousser les limites du matériau. A noter le rôle essentiel de la lumière et des ombres dans cette nouvelle collection de mobilier, notamment dans le but d’apporter sérénité et harmonie à un espace. Les ombres et lumières définissent les contours des pièces aussi bien que le matériau. L’exposition a eu lieu à « The Dock », une série de galeries dont la direction artistique a été confiée à Tom Dixon. El singular enfoque de Philip Michael Wolfson en materia de diseño se inspira en las dinámicas de ruptura y la manipulación de formas fluidas que exploran y redefinen la percepción de los materiales nobles. El diseñador ha realizado una nueva gama «TWISTED» totalmente en HI-MACS®. Ante todo, las complejas formas de los tres muebles «Why», «Why Not» y «Eruption Table», se centran en superar los límites del material. Hay que destacar el papel esencial del juego de luces y sombras de esta nueva colección de muebles, cuyo fin primordial es aportar serenidad y armonía a un espacio. L’approccio unico di Philip Michael Wolfson al design è ispirato alle dinamiche di frattura ed alla manipolazione di forme fluide, che esplorano e ridefiniscono la percezione dei materiali nobili. Il designer ha realizzato una nuova gamma, «TWISTED», completamente realizzata in HIMACS®. Le forme complesse dei tre mobili Why, Why Not ed Eruption Table, si propongono innanzitutto di opporsi ai limiti del materiale. Da notare, in questa nuova collezione di mobili, il ruolo essenziale della luce e delle ombre, che hanno in particolare lo scopo di conferire serenità ed armonia allo spazio. Le ombre e le luci definiscono i contorni degli elementi tanto quanto il materiale.
